Three deployments
UNICEF Gambia: 147 kits, 122 schools. UNICEF chose the TUMIQUI Smart Kit to equip schools without electricity in The Gambia. TUMIQUI JAPON SASU handled on-site installation and teacher training from Senegal. Delivery, installation and training took place in spring 2026 and were completed in May 2026. Teachers were trained in the use of the kit and the equipment connected to it.
Health posts in Casamance: electricity, printer and television. Three health posts in Casamance received a Smart Kit, a Seiko Epson printer and a television as part of a pilot study supported by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). These three posts, equipped in 2026, follow the 10 health posts electrified in 2019 under the memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Health. The kits are used every opening day, for night consultations and deliveries. In the health posts the group has electrified, more than 600 deliveries have taken place with electricity. The printer changed the work of the post. Staff used to take the boat to town for a photocopy. Documents are now printed in the consultation room. The television shows health awareness videos in the waiting area.
Sandiara sites: solar cold storage under real conditions. TUMIQUI JAPON SASU built and operates two sites in Sandiara. Site A (21 kWp, 22 m³) keeps its cold room at temperature with about 15 kWh a day and was commissioned in 2026. Site B (35 kWp, 60 m³) adds freezing and a processing workshop, where the women’s group GIE DIAMI SANDIARA processes mangoes. Both sites run day and night, on solar and batteries only. They can be visited by appointment.

In Senegal, with the ministries
Since 2019, TUMIQUI JAPON SASU has worked with the Ministry of Health and Social Action (health posts without electricity) and the Ministry of National Education (primary and lower secondary schools), under memoranda of understanding. A memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce covers solar cold storage and food processing in the country’s industrial hubs.
